Well, I have just watched my first group of Fiesta of Guadalupe celebrants pass my house. This one was quite large, led by a large group dressed in traditional Aztec costumes with feathered headresses, etc., followed by a large float with the Virgin of Guadalupe, then celebrants carrying candles, flowers, and baskets of food, then a band (tubas, drums, and all) playing the same song you hear in the video. The song is called "La Guadalupana". From now until Dec. 12 there will be groups representing all the hotels and major businesses in town as well as groups coming from outlying areas. They walk all the way (on my side of town they have to come through the mountains), often many miles. As they approach the cathedral, the church bells begin to ring. The plaza is already full of stalls selling food, handicrafts, etc. from this area. It really is quite pretty.
